What is Equity?
Equity means making sure every student has the support they need to be successful. Equity in CNUSD is about ensuring the well-being of all students. This aligns to our two-pillar approach in CNUSD, where we work towards ensuring ALL students benefit from an excellent education and promoting the social-emotional well-being of ALL students.
What does Equity look like in CNUSD?
Equity work in CNUSD is ensuring all students have equal access to the support and programs they need to be successful in school. This process includes looking at ways to improve the experiences of students we serve and accelerating learning for ALL students. For example, programs such as AVID and Career Technical Education are funded through the district’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). To learn more about CNUSD’s equity efforts, find a link to that planhere. The Local Control Accountability Plan illustrates how CNUSD utilizes a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to personalize resources to meet ALL students’ needs.
On March 16, 2021 the Board of education held a study session that included an overview of Equity efforts undertaken. Key points included a commitment to Inclusion, Professional Development, Social Emotional Learning, and Leadership Development.
Attached you will find a copy of the presentation shared with the Board that day.
